The technology turns any NFC-enabled Android device into a complete payment terminal without the need for a dedicated hardware device. Customers can simply tap their debit or credit card or smartphone on the merchant's device to pay. The CCV PhonePOS solution is compatible with Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover credit cards as well as girocard, Maestro and V Pay debit cards. It also supports mobile wallets such as Google Pay and Apple Pay.

Hardware

Your own Android device only needs to have an integrated NFC reader and contain an Android version supported by Android with updates (as of Jan 2023: 10.0 or higher).
Many smartphones already fulfil these requirements.
Enterprise devices: Availability depending on the status of the handheld provider, hardware manufacturers must receive authorisation from Visa/Master card.

Safety first

Special attention is paid to security in all aspects of payment. This is guaranteed to a high degree by special certifications.
PCI: CCV PhonePOS is CPoC certified and is authorised by Visa and Mastercard for PIN entry. MPoC certification is expected in Q2/2024.
For girocard: CCV PhonePOS is certified on the basis of the digital TOPP (terminal without PIN pad) by the German Banking Industry (DK) in accordance with TA7.2. PIN entry is authorised (provisional approval for the App POS standard).
The aforementioned standards provide for regular updates of the security keys within the CCV PhonePOS app. CCV provides an update for this every 28 days (no re-registration or dialling in necessary, can be done automatically via the Android settings).
