Enny van de Velden is one of four Dutch entrepreneurs in the final round of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year award on 2 October 2018. EY Entrepreneur Of The Year is one of the most prestigious awards for entrepreneurs. The award encourages and rewards successful entrepreneurship. Enny van de Velden is Chief Commercial Officer and Chair of the Board of CCV, one of the leading payment providers and suppliers of payment solutions and loyalty systems for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Netherlands. Enny is renowned as a versatile entrepreneur with a clear vision of CCV’s role in the fast-changing world of payment transactions.

Enny van de Velden’s nomination for EY Entrepreneur Of The Year is more than just recognition of her entrepreneurial capabilities, but importantly also of the significant role CCV now plays as a payment provider for businesses. Since the launch of the first payment terminal in the Netherlands in 1989, CCV has grown into one of the biggest suppliers of payment solutions for SMEs. Through its payment terminals, CCV delivers payment solutions (online and offline) and loyalty systems particularly for webshops, retailers, hospitality establishments, public transport operators, car parks and self-service outlets.

Since joining CCV in 2013, Enny has led the company’s more robust international expansion. CCV currently operates in sixteen countries and outside the Netherlands has offices in Belgium, Germany, and Switzerland. In total CCV employs approximately 1,200 people in Europe, serving more than 200,000 customers.

Under Enny van de Velden’s management, CCV has evolved – through a number of acquisitions as well as other development – from a supplier of payment terminals to a full-service partner capable of supporting its customers in fulfilling all payments and financial transactions, across the full spectrum of mobile, online and omnichannel solutions. In the coming years, the company’s focus will be on developing new ways of paying by smartphones and wearables by means of technologies like NFC and QR codes.

The four candidates for EY Entrepreneur Of The Year will present their visions and ideas to the jury and the public on 5 September 2018 at the Jury Day in Maarssen. Matters the jury will watch out for include personality, vision, passion and entrepreneurship; strategic direction; national and international impact, innovation, financial performance and sustainable growth. The winner of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year award in the Netherlands will be announced during the Final on 2 October 2018 in Amsterdam. The Dutch winner will go forward to Monaco where the winners from more than sixty countries will compete for the title of EY World Entrepreneur of the Year.

EY Entrepreneur Of The Year has been one of the world’s most high-profile entrepreneurial awards for more than twenty years. The programme is supported in the Netherlands by parties including the Ministry of Economic Affairs and employers’ federation VNO-NCW. The award spotlights successful entrepreneurs. Thanks to their vision, passion, conviction, leadership and often also their stubbornness, they inspire and motivate other people. In their pursuit of continuous improvement, they develop new ideas and concepts that – besides making their own company successful – ultimately also promote economic growth and employment opportunities.
