Apple Pay

Owners of Apple products, such as an iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch, can use their device for instant checkout. By holding the phone, tablet or watch close to the payment terminal, customers can pay contactless in your shop. You can pay with Apple Pay not only in a physical shop, but also in online stores.

Advantages of Apple Pay

  • Pay without cash
  • Payments are easy, fast and secure
  • Payments remain private

About Apple Pay - how does it work?

Apple Pay, like contactless debit card payments, uses the Near Field Communication (NFC) method. This is a wireless way of exchanging information within a 10-centimetre radius. The chip in a phone, tablet or watch communicates with another NFC device, for example your payment terminal. By keeping the two devices close together, your customer can pay quickly and securely.

To use this payment method, your customer must link their debit or credit card in the Apple Wallet. For Dutch consumers, this is currently only possible with bank cards from ING, ABN Amro, Rabobank, Bunq, N26, Monese and Revolut.

Private payments

Every time your customer buys something from you, Apple uses a device-specific number and a unique transaction code. So your customer's card number is never stored on their device or on Apple's servers. This keeps your customer's payments private.
