ARNHEM – With great sadness we share the news that our founder Cor van de Velden has passed away on May 26 in Arnhem. Mr. Van de Velden, for most of us Cor, was 91 years old.

Van de Velden was one of the founders of cashless payment in the Netherlands and expanded CCV through international acquisitions. Together with his ex-wife Bep van de Velden, he founded the accountancy firm of Van de Velden in 1958, which was renamed in 1967 into Computer Centre Cor van de Velden, which would later become CCV. What started as a small accounting firm quickly grew into a leading payment service provider.

Enny van de Velden, daughter and Chair of the Board, CCO: ''My father has been my great example and I have enormous admiration for how he founded and successfully built up CCV. My family and I will miss him terribly."

Van de Velden has been general manager from the start and chairman of the Board of Directors of CCV. Under his leadership, the company in Arnhem grew into a company that has now 10 offices in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany and, since his daughter Enny took over from him, is active in more than 25 countries in the field of omnichannel payment, with more than 1,000 employees.

“Our founder was in many ways a unique man, who always saw business opportunities around the world and introduced them with great success,” says Michiel Bijleveld, CTO at CCV on behalf of the Board of Directors. "We will miss him and wish his family a lot of strength with the loss. Cor was involved with CCV with heart and soul. His enthusiasm and his entrepreneurship made him a versatile personality. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his wife, children and close relatives.”
